Born in Paris, Emilie Goldstein graduated with a master's degree in interior design from ESAG Penninghen design school in Paris and a master's degree in Architecture - Part III from Marne la Vallée national school of architecture in France.
Her architectural experience includes collaborations on international and prestigious projects.
As a design and creative director, she has led notable projects with Shigeru Ban Architects in Paris, Vasconi Architects and partners in UAE, Built Environment Design (BED) in Tel Aviv, Vincent Callebaut Architectures in Taipei, Baranowitz & Kronenberg in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Amsterdam, Prague & Zurich.
She is the principal founder of Total design studio. Her experience in restoration projects gave her a further understanding of construction and the qualities of rustic building materials. As her practice developed, Emilie was able to incorporate her knowledge of materials into contemporary construction and detailing. Her projects explore the tactile and sensory qualities of spaces and materials while retaining a minimalist feel.
Photography and sculpture have always been key activities side by side with her work as an architect, nourishing her sensitive and architectural approach. She lives and works in Toronto as an independent architect.
